Be Kind
A strange thing about self protection is how it feels like misbehaving.
Like you are being “difficult” just because you stopped over explaining and started opting out.
We were wired to think being nice means being available.
So the moment you choose distance, your brain files it under bad behaviour.
Saying no feels louder than it is.
Setting boundaries feels dramatic even when you are being calm.
And protecting yourself from people who confuse kindness with access somehow feels rude.
But it is not misbehaviour.
It is just self respect finally clearing its throat.
And honestly, that deserves a little grace.
