Chasing Sunsets, Craving Sunrises
There’s something romantic about chasing sunsets. The sky is on fire, the light is soft, and everything feels golden for a moment. You sit there, watching the colors fade, thinking this is it — this is what you were looking for. And maybe, for a while, it is.
But sunsets always end. No matter how beautiful they are, they slowly slip into darkness. That’s the thing we forget while we’re chasing them — they’re endings, not beginnings.
Sometimes, we chase things that look beautiful. People, dreams, distractions. They shimmer for a moment, they feel warm, but then they fade — and we’re left wondering why it feels so cold after.
That’s when we start thinking about sunrises. Quiet, steady, full of promise. Not as dramatic, maybe. But they bring light. They begin things. And the funny part? You usually don’t even realise you’ve been craving a sunrise… until you’ve chased one too many sunsets.
It’s only after the sky goes dark that you start hoping for something that rises — not just glows and disappears.
So if you’re feeling lost after chasing something that felt right at first, don’t be hard on yourself. Maybe you were meant to see that sunset — just so you could be sure that what you really want is the sunrise.
